| Subject: | If not a hobby shop, then what? | |
| Date: | Feb 12, 2005 |
| From: | Peter Ong | |
There were a few posts years ago saying, "I plan to open a hobby shop soon. It has been my dream and I could afford to open one."
The replies were mostly negative, ranging from, "What, are you crazy?" to "You're going to go out-of-business in NO TIME! A hobby store is a sure way to go broke!" to "No one builds models anymore, so no one buys kits anymore."
So...just out of curiosity, what do these repliers and "those who know" recommend as a start-up retail storefront business for one guy if hobby shops are an easy way to "lose all one's money?"
* Restaurant?
* Video game store?
* R/C or railroad
* Coffee/donut shop
* Bookstore
