I wouldn't go so far to say that you will go broke running a hobby shop.
It is just like any other business, someone makes good profit, someone loses. Same for any business, hobby shop or not. So my advise is think carefully, know what you are doing, think like a businessman when you do so.
Paul's comment about Hong Kong may be wrong, but it is an indication of my point. In Hong Kong you can never compete with those big guys, especially UML, the retail affiliate of DML. Those guys can drive a newcomer out of business in no time. Nonetheless many small shops do survive. |
