Dear Fellow modellers
Many thanks for your thoughtful, and soothing comments! I can follow that AMPS, or IPMS rules will eliminate perhaps 70% from the podium. I can imagine it must be very difficult to then choose between say 5 excellent models. We must accept that subjectivity will come in at this later stage. The example of the red bicycle stowed on the back being an example perhaps of an eye-catching gimmick that takes you that bit further. For me, the bicycle would have to be black with white paint on the tips of the mud guards to believe it! I guess I'm hopelessly stuck in the mud of trying to reach reality that is faithful to the period, rather then something appealing. But clearly it appeals to me!
I liked the advice of basically building for yourself, rather than for competitions
Thanks all
