I too am like a great many that have posted so far. Sport, girls, pubs, rock concerts, career etc all hit me at the same time and something had to give, so modelling went by the wayside. Having (fairly) recently come back to the fold I too am staggered by the quality of kits and the availability of aftermarket products to enhance said quality kits.
The abilities of the vast majority of people who post images of their work to this and other sites is truly mind blowing and unfortunately, for someone who is not easily intimidated by anything, I do find it intimidating (this from a guy who has, in his time, been accused of being intimidating on occassion!!!!). I have always been a bit of a perfectionist (a fault I know) so the thought of posting and then having it ripped to bits because "...the mantlets wrong", ".....that vehicle had zimmerit" or "......that set of bolts didn't exist on that version" really has stopped me in my tracks!! Since I came back a year or so ago I have completed only four kits, only one of which I deemed OK enough to be posted here. I have no less than seven part completed kits just sitting here because, having seen other peoples work and the dispariging comments made by others (not on this site you understand), I've decided that if such and such's work wasn't deemed good enough then mine sure as hell ain't.
Am I the only one who feels like this? Maybe a new thread..."Intimidation"?
I love this site so will someone please call me a big wuss; it won't stop me coming back and I'll even post some of the completed works, poor as they may be!!!!!!!
Cheers from Blighty!!
