Sometimes i feel that the reviews are aimed at very experienced modellers. especially when great pains are taken to point out variances in scale that to the naked eye as a stand alone kit wouldnt normally be discernable, (such as 0.5mm of a barrel length? what the?)

I would like reviewers to think more about their audience their writing for, mr average modeller maybe ? who has a few kits on a shelf , will build mostly out of box, maybe adding a few accesories for overall appearance but wouldnt even know about such innacuacies because he wouldnt own a set of plans for that tank or have access to volumes of literature on it. the average model maker probably has a few generic books on the subject, might have a squad sig publication or or vanguard, and pics from magazines as refernce. whats important to him in a review might be more along the lines of:

I have ok skills, but will i have to deal with major alignment issues? or will there be problems with gaps etc,

i'm forking out 80 bucks for this new tank from company A, yet company B sells same kit for 60, why should i pay that extra 20 ?

is the level of accuracy noticeable with naked eye and no measuring tools needed to realise innacuracies when the kit stands on its own ?

Just a thought, of course. but too much information can be a turn off,.. I did like the Angus Creighton style reviews in TMMI, where as he built a kit he would cover optional extra detailing, and suggest fixes for innacuracies. It wasnt as if you were pressured into fixing it or your not worthy...

just a thought
