I suppose a week or two, I was a card-carryng member of the 'Sceptics' Union. Now i'm not so sure... Partly, it came from a conscious effort to increase 1/48th 'content' in the News Section of Armorama. Only then, did I begin to see how many companies are 'dipping a toe in the water'. The latest is TMD and even Verlinden have announced a 1/48th Tiger Engine...
Personally, I see it a touch 'Catch-22' until there are more kits out there, peple will wait, if they wait, the (plastic) manufacturers will hold back, etc. etc.
I think it's going to get very popular although at the moment a lot of people are waiting and looking. Personally i'm going to try one or two although buying from HK - the Tamiya kits here in Europe are running at around $30 a pop. No,at the moment it's not popular, how many people's interest has been whetted by it is another matter entirely...Jim |
