Well in a roundabout way my dad (and brothers) did get me modelling.
My dad travelled allot with my brothers and their ice hockey team when I was a child, (I couldn't play any competitive sports as a kid due to a congenital heart defect) so one wintert early on when my dad and brothers were away, Mom suprised me with a model which I eagerly "over glued" and "over painted".
Mom saw how into it I got. She joined me up in the model of the month club and I was off to the races, I whiled away many hours building the kits each month!
Now my heart has taken care of itself, I can play recreational ice hockey and build models too!
