Julian,
You are absolutely correct about the laborers.
My point is that many have attributed Volkswagen as Hitler's invention. He had nothing to do with the invention or design of the Beetle. He did however steal the land from the Wolfsburg family and made materials available for building the plant and city of Wolfsburg (the town didn't exist prior to the factory).
