Hi Jan-Willem,
I built this kit a few years back and wrote a review for Track-Link,
it's a very good kit overall. It's marred by sinkholes in some parts,
especially on the turret. I think generally the turret can be improved
upon, by using some Tamiya parts from their Marder 1A2. Also New
Connection and I believe Modelpoint have replacement gun barrels. A
German manafuctrer whose name I can't remember (wasn't one of the
"majors") did a rear hull hatch set some years ago. Real Models have a
Marder engine but you could also use the engine in the Tamiya kits.
New roadwheels would be nice also I almost used Tamiya ones which have
are more defined and sharper, but overall they lack some of the detail
on the Revell wheels so it's a tie, but I used Revell wheels in the end.
A NICE set of Marder tracks would be great Revell one are so/so but
better than Tamiya. Elite do a resin set but all those I have seen wer
poorly moulded. Wasn't HCKW going to do a workable set in plastic? Still
in the cards?
Cheers,
Christophe |
