Hi Billy,
Most of the upgrades have this extension to the bustle to allow various gun
types to be installed. It is not the gun that is the issue but it's
ammunition. If a gun sues one piece ammo, it requires far more room than
the base vehicle (TO-72) was designed for. Remember that the original T-72
gun, D-81, uses separate projectile and case whic are stored differently
from what much longer one piece ammo would be.
