Did the M41s use the large searchlight with the rounded sides as used on
the M48? If so I have a couple of shots of how that was mounted on the
M48/M103 that might be of use. If it used a different mount system, then
I can't help. The M48/M103 light mounted on what were essentially 3
trailer hook balls using the same sort of "over centre" latch to fix the
mount to the balls which were permanently attached to the mantlet. If
this sounds familiar then I have info for you.
I just looked in Hunnicutt's Light Tanks Vol 2 and on pages 260-261
there are photos of ARVN M41A3s with the M48 style searchlight. A good
side shot shows the installation of welded brackets for the "trailer
hook" mounting system.
