Beleve me or not, I have been using USSR industry production for years.

And when they tell me, that main tool on car plant is 8kg hammer, I do believe :)
Same I believe stories, telling, that CRT monitors were shipped with all the electronic parts in plastic bag with note "Sorry, men.
It's end of month".
Or microchips were made without chip itself, just hulls.
It's exception, of course, not rule, but gives some example of attitude.

PS I have no reason not to trust a man, who makes models for living and has measured that 20-30 mm of left-right hull side
difference on wartime prod tank. No reason at all.
