Hi Steve,

Almost all torsion bar suspensions on tanks old and new are offset from one
side to the other. The torsion bars from one side of the tank reach the
opposite side, that's where they're attached. The bars need to be staggered
to pass each other.

Take a look at KVs, Pershings, Abrams and even the Panthers and Tigers,
they're all staggered from one side to the other.
