Subject:  Louvered Boxes on Sides of AFV's?List thread.

 From:  Brian Hutchison
This might be a stupid question but I know I can get the answer here...

What are those boxes with the louvers that are attached to the sides of the
US AFV's? Are they some type of recognition device? I have seen them on the
sides of the Abrams turrets and on the sides and rear of the M113's.

Thanks in advance,
Brian
