| Subject: | Different M1 Abrams variant | |

In today's Washington Post on page A23 there is a pic of a vehicle being
refueled. It appears to be an M1 with the turret removed and a low
superstructure in it's place. There is a cupola that looks similar to
the one on the M113 with a .50 cal M2 HB mounted on it. The driver's
hatch looks like an Abrams hatch and so do the headlights. It also
appears to have the mounting points for the mine plow or roller on the
lower front hull. Anybody got more pics or info on this vehicle. The
caption has it as a 3rd Infantry Div vehicle. |
