Captain Swoop,
That technique you refer to, um....er..., modeling, .....what is it? Sounds
like work :-(
Just kidding, I do not like to get myself into these things for I have built
the 'unbuildable' models and enjoyed it. You know the ones I mean, those
referred to as only one step above scratchbuilding.
Hell, I've done scratchbuilding too! The best memories are of finding ways
to replace the crappy items that cam with the vacuum formed armor models
from Germany and Czechoslovakia (remember those?) as well as the early resin
efforts from Airmodel. Yet, here I am amazed at the lovely time saving
measures available nowadays to those not as talented in the building area.
Mind you, my painting truly stinks!
Here are some shots from an OLD Tamiya M4A3 converted to an M4A2 (76) late
with all the casting marks reconfigured for a correct vehicle. Hell, I even
wrote to AFV News to point out a mistake by DP Dyer in an article on Sherman
turret drawing numbers! Talk about research!
Well, enough reminiscing, back to shaking my Tamiya boxes and seeing what
pops out.
Regards,
Saul Garcia
