Hi Mark & Christophe,
I think the article you are referring to is one by Steven "Cookie" Sewell which
appeared in FineScale Modeler. He used the CMD turret, new rear plate, redone
upper deck, and small details. All very doable. As a matter of fact, I used his
article for inspiration on reworking an ESCI 1:72nd scale kit.
Other modeling articles were by Vasko Barbic in the June, July, and September,
1988, issues of Military Modeling.
