Hi,
I would think that the Egyptians would be facing Shermans. Not Super Shermans, but just the "plain Jane" 75 mm armed ones. That'd be an interesting face-off. Strange in modern combat you don't read about tankers or analysts lamenting the weak Sherman armor vs. 17 pdr/20 pdr/100mm/105mm/115mm/120mm etc.
I guess the 8.8 cm KwK has it's own charm or something...
