| Remember by the end of World War II both larger guns and new HEAT and SABOT charges were beginning to spell the end of traditional steel armor. The 17 pdr, German 75mm and 88mm, Russian 122mm, 100mm and 85mm, and the US 90mm guns could seriously disable or destroy any turreted tank at most reasonable ranges. Sure a T-55's 100mm gun could knock out an Isralei Sherman, but the Super Shermans French 75mm (based on the German Panther gun) could knock out a T-55. If you were thinking about Pakestani Fireflies, the tanks usually pictured are not Fireflies but old US 75mm tanks upgunned with the US 76mm and not a 17 pdr. |
