Up till the late eighties at last, the Austrian Army used to have M88
ARVs.

I've seen recent photos showing M88A1 ARVs now in Austrian service.

Were those acquired from outside or were the M88s upgraded to M88A1
standard?

They don't seem to be ex-German M88A1Gs...

Any info on those vehicles would be most appreciated.
