During W.W. II the earlier M15 trailer was supplemented/replaced by the M15A1. New trailers were built and old ones were upgraded to A1 standards. The Pershing was usually carried on the new A1 trailer, which could carry a heavier load and had ramps over the rear tires to make loading wider tanks possible than the earlier M15 trailer. There is at least one photo of a Pershing on the early trailer, though.

The M26 tractor was widely used in Korea, although by then the trailer would most likely be the A1, and the soft cab tractor was more common than the older armored type.
