FYI to OIF modelers!
Although the website photo shows Marines in floppy hats, Marines ALWAYS wear their kevlar helmets into combat---USMC policy. They only wear floppies "behind the lines" or when not in combat (like in this photo). The same applies for OEF as well. At the slightest hint of danger, the floppy hats come off and the kevlar helmets go on.
In fact, most Marines tie their kevlars to their backpacks when at the base or loading up. As for other hats and knit caps, Marines only wear those in non-combat roles, like when inside a cargo plane and that Marine has no intention of getting off the plane. As such, kevlars go wherever and whenever Marines enter combat.
So if you model a 13-man Marine squad with floppies, the viewer assumes they are not fighting. If you model a combat scene, all Marines should wear kevlar. This info came straight to me from a Marine sergeant. I just hope the new Tamiya Stowage Set adds some kevlars since IMO, Tamiya kevlars are the best and NO, it's not too late for Tamiya to do this!!! (After all, what is Tamiya holding onto the kevlar helmet mold for?).
To date, the USMC still uses the M-16A2 with scopes and not the M4 as the standard rifle.
