Hi.
I'm no expert on this subject, allthoug softskins are my "cup of tea".
The M125 were according to one of my books used to tow the Long Tom and 8"
in Korea and Vietnam. As the LT and 8" weren't suited for Nam these were
withdrawn. The trucks were most likely used to haul very heavy equipment and
such stuff and/or heavy trailers. The army used to couple up semitrailer
with a dolly and the M125 would be a more suitable puller than a normal M54
5-tonner. As the M125 weren't very common like the 5-tonners they most
likelly end up as spare sources for the M123 or sent back to the US.
"I did not know there was a mortar carrier."
It's the 81mm version of the M113. Cousin to the M106, 107mm mortar carrier.
