| During the Vietnam War there was an unsuccessful attempt to rescue U.S. POWs held at the Song Tay Prison Camp in North Vietnam. The U.S. helicopters with the rescue force arrived to find the camp empty -- it had been evacuated a few hours prior to the first chopper's arrival because of flooding, IIRC. Does anyone remember the date of the attempt? |
