The Mk.II had the 17pdr and the new turret (commanders cupola), the Mk.III was pretty much the same tank but with a 20pdr. Things can get confusing, the Mk.II was upgraded to the Mk.III standard by replacing the gun. They where also upgraded to Mk.V standard as where Mk.III itself.

The Tamiya kit I think is a Mk.III to a Mk.V.

A surprisingly good book is the old Squadron "Centurion In Action" if you can get it. Post a message in the Buy & Sell forum.

The Centurion is definitely a contender for the best tank ever. A new kit needed... supposedly one is on the way from AFV Club.
