I'm sure someone must know this:
You see modern British tanks with what must be squadron symbols eg a triangle - A squadron in black or yellow on the turret. But inside the symbol you often see a number eg 22. For example on Plain army.com you see an 'A' squadron symbol with the no 22 inside, this seems a high number for either a troop, or an individual vehicle since I would assume a squadron would have about 15 vehicles.
Hope someone can advise
Thanks
