There was a T-55 armed with the 125mm, which showed at an Iraqi arms fair some years ago. It had a raised turret roof to accommodate the autoloader and gun but I have never seen pictures of the decks. No idea what it was called, other than 'T55 upgunned with 125mm'!
As far as I am aware, it did not see action.
The vehicle known unofficially as 'Enigma' (no idea who originated the name) is the 100mm version with blocks of spaced armour used by 5 Mech Div at Khafji in 1991. I seemt o recall it may also have been on show at the same fair but I may be off-base on that. |
