Christophe,
The armor blocks represent extra weight on the front of the turret for the
DU armor mesh, like Scott said. During Desert Storm, some of the straight
M1A1s - VII Corps received applique plates to the front of their turrets.
The M1A1/A2 Tank managers are trying to come up with "contingency armor" to
increase the protection for the top and sides of the turret
