Hi Tony,
Thanks for posting the picture. One can find a nice color version and the basic stats in "The Encyclopedia of Tanks and Armored Fighting Vehicles", edited by Christopher Foss (Thunder Bay Press, San Diego, www.thunderbaybooks.com, Amber Books in the UK), a nice compendium of key historic and current AFV's.
I have about eight other images of the X1A2 that I pulled off the internet, only two or three are really of much use.
However, I have a friend who is in Brazill right now, assigned with the task of locating an X1A2 and shooting a walk-around. He's a consultant to the army and is using his contacts to locate an example.
Foss says its out of service but some internet sources list 40 of these still in the Brazilian Army. He's going to try to verify that as well.
What do think about the tracks? Are they unique to th X1A2 or are they a copy of a U.S. prototype?
