| Subject: | Re: Color & markings for Finnish Famo | |

Digging through my Finnish books I only located a picture of one of the two Famos. It looked to be in an overall dark yellow without any camo (fairly light so it's not dk. grey, and summer uniforms so it's not whitewashed). It was a side shot, so I can't tell you any info on specific markings or serial numbers.
The Germans also used some Famos in Finland with their StuG batteries, I have seen examples in Dk grey and Dk yellow.
One of the Finnish Famos survives in the armor museum at Parola, though it's sitting unrestored under a tarp. The only picture of it I've seen shows it to be reddish painted - I don't know if that's a postwar application or the red-brown primer. It didn't look like rust (too red).
I'd suggest you drop a line to the fine folks at the armor museum, they'll probably be of more help than me.
