I think the answer is - sometimes! The book "Russian Armoured Cars
1930-2000" shows BRDM and associated variants sporting 3 different types of
tyre, one of which is the type most commonly seen on the BRDM-2, BTR-60 etc.
They all appear to be the same size (or very close) diameter wise from the
photos.
