Alex,

You are describing the M48 and M48A1. The M4A2 gasoline version also had a raised deck with garting to either side similar to the Diesel powered M48A3. I think the tank pictured is an M48A2 since the grating that is pictured doesn't curve in noticeably as it would to go inboard of a Diesel air cleaner. Any one else have any opinions.
