Hi Bill,
I found some reference on it in Verlindens War Machines #3. The lines (on a M60A3) run under the tank to the centrally located control valve ( looks like a box ), then to the lift cylinders. There is a mechanical linkage connected to the high mounted cross beam. The linkage has a handle that the driver could reach out and pull to manipulate the blades carrying hooks for stowed position. As far as the descripion goes here, there wasnt anything actually inside the drivers compartment out of the normal, everything was outside the vehicle. This would lead me to believe the contol valve was electrically engaged/disengaged from the drivers position.
