Hi guys,
A friend of mine and his brother recently visited Burma (or Myanmar as they like to be called nowadays) and I asked him to make some armour pics if the opportunity arose. Well, that was not that easy, even when visiting the Myanmar Army Museum they got only permission to take photographs when either they or their 'minder' were in the pic! So there are some humans photo-shopped out of the following pics for reasons of security.
As my friends have no clue on armour at all, some of the pics does not show the most interesting angles, but anyway I like to share them with you. Esspecially as Burma is not a real holiday destination.
My friend also told me that he also saw a draisine, still in use. But he did not dare to photograph it as it was bristling with trigger happy military. The body of the draisine was very akin to the body of the first vehicle shown here. I cannot identify it, but I think it's a local build improvised armoured car on a British light truck/gun tractor. Any suggestions would be welcome. |
