From interview with Boris Snetkov- commander of the Soviet Army Group in Germany in 1987-1990:
Таким образом, если в середине 1980-х годов основным типом танков ГСВГ были машины Т-64А и Т-64Б (кроме того, имелось некоторое количество танков Т-62), то на осень 1991 г. 3/4 танкового парка ЗГВ составляли Т-80Б - танки выпуска 1980-х г.г. (причем за вторую половину 1980-х их было поставлено соединениям группы войск порядка 2 тыс.машин), а остальную часть танкового парка составляли Т-64 последних модификаций
Translation:
In middle of the 80-th the main tanks of the Soviet Army Group in Germany were T-64A and T-64B (plus some T-62). In Fall of the 1991 3/4 (75%) of the tanks were T-80B-models of the 1980-th (in fact in second half of the 1980-th were received about 2000 tanks) the rest of the tanks were late editions of the T-64. |
