Ref:A. US Army TB 11-5820-890-20-83 Instl Instr IKEE MK-2692 NRC Inslt for Radio VRC-87/88/90 series in M1070 HET
B. Wings & Wheels Green Line No 3 US Army Truck Tractors.
1. Not able to provide any photos. Ref A is the installation instruction and shows the ant base unit being bolted halfway along the diagonal brace for the exhaust stack. That puts it along the chassis centre line and about halfway up the back of the cab. Cabling runs down the brace to the lower corner of the cab and enters through a hole there, across the floor under the rear bench and driver's seat and then up the left side of the engine housing inside the cab.
2. Ref B tends to confirm this, although this is an extrapolation of dark photos and not clear images.
3. Go back to Prime Portal and look speciffically at "M1070 Cab Empty Walkaround" photo 14 of 17; "More M170s in Iraq" photo 2 of 27; and "M1070 HET Picture" (118), (181)and (83). Note, not all tractors will have a radio. Not sure of the proportion but probably only one in four or five.
