Croatian T-55 turret hatch rings
Hi,
I wanted to ask about the ring around the gunner's hatch opening on T-55s, specifically Polish built T-55As (?) (turret option 'C' in the Tamya kit and hatch assembly 'D' in the Blast update.) The question is: Is the ring mounting the hatch and the AA-MG mount fixed? or is it free to rotate about? The reason I ask is that I'm planing to build my kit as a captured T-55 in Croatian service, specifically 'Marina' or 'Grom', and the pictures I have show the hatch ring rotated so that the MG is pointed off the right of the turret and the hatch opens towards the centre of the turret on both these tanks. Would the ring have been removed and re-welded in this position? or dose it traverse relative to the turret to bring the MG to bare? If it is fixed in place, Can anyone tell me roughly or exactly how far to the right it is turned? In the pictures I'm looking at, it looks to be perhaps between the 2:00 or 3:00 position, but I can't tell for sure due to the angel and lack of clarity of the picture. The Pictures I have are the series of 'Marina' and 'Grom' parked near the houses and a closeup of 'Grom' taken from about 1:00.
Thanks!
