Got an M274 Mech Mule about done, the Glencoe 1/15. Want it as a USMC vehicle.

Klaus book says ~4052 for USMC tac vehicles 60s-70s. I found a web site for guys that restore old military vehicles. He says Forest Green (but gives no FS). Forest Green is ~4079 in the Klaus book.

~4079 seems to dark, I have Humbrol 161 US Marine Corps Green. Looks about what I imagined. I know MM has ~4052, but I think the Humbrol ought to do.

I made 2 cartridge crates from plastic stock from approx. sizes found on net. Even found markings, which I have printed in yellow to go on the OD ammo crates. The kit doesn't have decals, though it says it does on the box. Apparently USMC vehicles weren't overly marked, so after looking around a bit and reading the restoration site as to what he'd found for markings I settled on a star, USMC and a 6 digit SN (entirely fictious) in yellow to put on the gas tank. It's my first try at making decals, have a stencil font and just sized accordingly in Word and printed. Looks pretty good.

Frank
