NEGATORY! I've got just about every book on the IDF I can find, especially on the 6 day war and there is NOT a single photograph ANYWHERE in those books showing Israeli troops with British helmets at that time. Those helmets were TERRIBLE! Even the British had quit using them by 1967. I suppose it is possible some kibbutz civilian guard might have one left over but NOT anyone in the regular army. (I suppose you're going to tell me that the Jordanians still used them in 1967 as well!)

According to the Israeli Sherman by Darlington productions there were many HVSS Shermans that still have the Continental. One thing I've learned there are NO hard and fast rules to the Sherman, M-50 and M-51 stories. It was implemented haphazardly by the Israelis many due to conditions, supply and resources. The Israelis simply could not afford to do block changes like they do now.

Its funny about that photo, but it doesn't look ANYHING like the Lion's Gate I visited.

I have to agree that the early style commanders hatch means earlier as well. Changing to the single hatch was relatively simple, but again it could mean nothing!
