Hi Richard,
I understood that a well designed hollow charge warhead had a penetration number of five times its diameter under optimal circumstances. (Angle of attack, etc..)
As you claim that non conductive metals can be used too, I think 'electric' armour wiil be as 'succesfull' as the 'atomic tank', the 'hover tank' and the 'jet pack'!
Just make lead lined charges, and there you go! (Also much cheaper then copper at current prices.)
Perhaps another company that want to make some serious bucks on the Iraq/Afghanistan quagmire?
Anyway, it seems that Star Trek like 'shields' are as distant as warp drive on my bicycle!
