Hi I did a little research and have to qualify my earlier post. My training and information was in the early 1970's at that time the cone diameter=penetration ratio was correct based on using comp B as explosive. The penetration was for a 150mm shaped charge filled with Comp B it would penetrate 178mm of armor plate, 250 mm of mild steel, 380mm of granite, 760mm of steel reinforced concrete and 910mm of soft rock like sandstone. Now they have multiple shaped charges and explosively formed projectiles that have significately better penetration.
