Ricardo specialist vehicles is the company that builds the Landrover DPV for the British forces. They receive the standard Landrover Defender 110 HCPU (high capacity pick up) from Landrover and modify it as required. It might be worth contacting them and explaining that you're a world famous modeller after some info! I'm sure AA must have liased with Ricardo when designing the kit.

They are based in Shoreham-by-Sea on the south coast of England.
In response to Al, my personal suspiscion is that it's unlikely the SAS would paint their own vehicles in the field. It might happen, but as the support group would include a REME LAD (light aid detachment) I imagine they would carry out any field modifications including painting. Like I say that's just my personal opinion and might be totally wrong! |
