Hi,
I don't have the Tamiya Centurion but the academy one, which is, if I'm not wrong, a copy or clone of the Tamiya Cent, dating back to the seventies. The AFV one is the better choice, more accurate and more detailed. I think your comparison with the T62 is not wrong.
