Sorry this will be no help with colour schemes for the M2/M3, but this page is pretty good for other MERDC schemes - not least because it’s in full colour. Some of the TMs seem to give painting patterns for everything down to the brush you’re holding, but inexplicably leave out the heavy equipment. This page covers them quite nicely.
I think Tamiya released their M2 in MERDC colours, and the pattern for that would have been identical on the M3 as well (they may even have released the M3 separately, but it's so long ago now ...). So if you can get hold of the instructions for that kit, you may at least have a starting point.
