Thank for your words. I´m glad you like it, I enjoyed this model quite a lot because it´s my only model with a fairly extensive detail work.

It´s the Trumpeter model -far from perfect, but acceptable OOTB and a good base with some tweaking and detailing-.

For an Egyptian vehicle I think it´s a better choice than Tamiya´s kit because of the version: Egypt only received modernised IS-3Ms as depicted by Trumpeter. Converting Tamiya´s earlier mark in that version could take quite an effort because it implies to scratch-build the new fenders.
Tamiya did a better job replicating the undercuts in the turret lower front and the gun mantlet top cover. But this can be easily corrected. The road wheels are the right diameter also -Trumpeter got it a little bit undersized. Overall Tamiya´s detail is crisper, but that´s not saying that Trumpeter is bad.

Strangely enough Tamiya provided late style tracks more appropiate for trumpeter´s kit and vice versa: Trumpeter provides early tracks wich suits Tamiya IS-3 better. In any case the tracks in the kit are quite bad so I used Friuls.

As for the ISU I don´t know for sure but I think I saw a drawing of it in a Russian book. In the russian battlefield web there is such a drawing -probably the same-:
