| I am not sure of the actual thicknesses, but I just happened to be visiting a US Army test center a couple of weeks ago and got a tour of their targets group which has about seven different T-72 models as well as some newer stuff and lots of other Soviet vehicles as well. You can easily see on many of the various 72s that the surface armor plate on the upper hull glacis is at least two inches thick and it appears to be welded to the upper hull which is probably another several inches. Hope this helps. |
