Somehow, I suspect this was assembled postwar from "leftovers". The
applique clearly mark it as a late, dry-stowage M4A2. Yet, I don't
believe any of those were rearmed with 76mm guns by the US.
The one thing that puts me off though is the shape of the gun tube.
Unless the problem lies with the quality of the picture, the gun tube
looks kind of straight (no taper). The diameter of the muzzle end of the
tube actually looks wider than that of the muzzle brake collar!
Maybe the people who "restored" the thing simply took a straight piece
of pipe and attached a muzzle brake to it to make it sort of look like a
gun...
Just my observations.
