Well, I finally found this site again!! :-) This is definitely an M4A2. A
friend of mine has shots of it in its original form, with a broken barrel,
and again like this. The Chinese simply repaired the damage a little more
enthusiastically than necessary. A better question is how they got it in
the first place. I recall someone showing that the Marines had a few with
them on occupation duty after the war. This one may have been left behind.
They may also have been turned over to Nationalist forces, then captured.
