"Israeli Sherman, Tracing the History of the Sherman Tank in
Israeli Service' by Tom Gannon. Darlington Productions,
Inc. ISBN 1-892848-06-6.

I just got this book yesterday and I've skimmed through it
and I'm quite impressed. Tom is a frequent contributor here
and he's done a great job on this very involved and
interesting subject. Tons of black and white photos,
interior and details of engine decks, storage clasps and
turret details and just so much to gladden the heart of the
most detail-oriented of us. The color photos are on the
front and back covers of this hard-bound book.

Chapters:
1. Sherman Primer
2. First Israeli Shermans
3. Early Shermans
4. M50/M51 Series
5. Israeli 'Panzerstellung'
6. Self-propelled guns
7. Recovery Vehicles
8. Specialty Shermans
9. Where Are They Now?
10. Appendices

In just my quick perusal of this book and the very nice
photos, I've already gotten more ideas for Israeli Sherman
projects than I thought possible. It's also a great
reference to copy a photo and lay it next to your unusual
project at the next contest when some 'expert' proclaims
that 'that just wasn't possible'. Tom definitely wrote this
with us modelers in mind, and he even makes that statement.

Tom, you did one hell of a job. I highly recommend this
book.

Jim
