According to Bryan Perrett, at least some M3's were shipped direct from Egypt to Burma, and fought in their desert colour scheme of light stone and sand. There are photos of the unit's tanks in what certainly looks like a sand colour, and wearing desert-style sand shields (or the remains thereof). Only one, 'Curse of Scotland' survived the retreat of 1942; the photo of it seems to indicate a darker colour (green?) painted over a lighter one (sand?), but it's really hard to tell.
